Speed and Police In general, the Swaziland Police is friendly and helpful. Motorists are advised to have their driver's license in their vehicles, at all times. The general speed limit in Swaziland is 80kph, reducing to 60kph as marked in urban and other areas. Highways 120kph. On all tar roads are radar traps. With a foreign registration you will have to pay immediately. Please do not drink and drive. The controls are very strict and you might end up in an accommodation you did not book. Police escorts lead official motorcades and the law requires that all vehicles move to the side of the road and stop when one approached. Motorists are advised to keep their driver's licences upon them whenever driving a vihicle, and seat belts must be worn.
